One Response to “Risk of opportunistic infections”

  1. Wai, Fei and Chai, Don’t give up on hope. Pray and have courage, be strong and determined. Think positive. Although I’m of different religion, pray and have blessing to your god and faith.

3 years ago, my CD4 was only 15 and I pray for a second chance in life. I cried until there is no more tears. None of my family members know I contracted AIDS except two of my closest friends. 3 years I struggle but I’m determined to live for as long as I’m able.

It took me 2.5 years to get my CD4 to 196 but now its dropping again and viral load increasing. BUT I’m not going to give up. Going in and out of hospital is a routine, although tiring. It does get lonely when I’m hospitalised and noone to visit me but I’m used to it.

I’m all alone but its my choice. I feel if others knew my condition, they will drag me down. I live a normal life, goes to work, gym and exercise, travel and have fun but I have strict routine, eat well, avoid being in a crowd bcoz I might easily get infected by viruses, clean living, avoid stress, take extra supplement. I surf the internet and research on how to survive, but most importantly I pray.

Emotionally, I’m not strong enough nor do I have the courage to openly motivate others who have AIDS and share my experiences. I even stopped telling my health condition to the 2 friends that knew about it.

May god bless you with long health and Gong Xi Fa Chai for many many years to come.
